A real estate career begins with a broker’s license. According to Illinois law, a broker’s license is necessary in order to provide assistance to others which is in any way intended for the sale or lease of real estate, for compensation. This includes the representation of clients in the negotiation of real estate sales contracts or leases, as well as the issuance of advertisements for the sale, purchase or lease of real estate.

FIVE STEPS TO BECOME A LICENSED BROKER

  1. Complete 75 credit-hour state-approved pre-license program!
  2. Take and pass the state licensing exam.
  3. Find a sponsoring broker.
  4. Apply to the state for your broker’s license.
  5. Complete the Post License Coursework required for your first license renewal deadline.

It also involves a dedicated interactive portion with “real world” examples, role play and answers to “what if” scenarios.

If you learn best in a traditional classroom setting, and you have the flexibility to commit to attending one of our sessions, then our classroom course is your best option. The experience includes a full-time instructor, group discussions, unit reviews and a brand new classroom facility!

  • All-Day Classes: Meet for ten (10) consecutive weekdays, Monday – Friday
  • Saturday Classes: Meet for ten (10) consecutive Saturdays
  • Evening Classes: Meet for twenty (20) evenings on consecutive Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • Morning Classes: Meet for twenty (20) mornings on consecutive Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Our self-paced course covers the exact same content as the live classes, however, due to state requirements, includes ONLY 60 Hours of your required 75 Hours. You will need to register for the final 15 Hours separately for an additional fee.

If at any point you feel like the format just isn’t working for you, you may transfer to a live course. You’ll have to pay the difference in the course price and a transfer fee will apply.
